<— See that? That’s me!
Hello, I’m Nick!
And now, I’m gonna talk about me. After all, you clicked the “About Nick” link… who’d you think I was gonna talk about?
Well, for starters, I’m 32 years old. Just old enough to start forgetting important stuff, like… where I put my… umm… what was I looking for again? Yeah. That happens to me a lot these days. No, I don’t have Alzheimer’s… I’m just easily distracted. (As noted by the fact that I started editing this an hour ago…)
Surprisingly enough, despite these issues, I’m married. I know, I know, I’m not sure how that happened either… I guess I found the one woman alive who can put up with me. Either that or she’s really good at pretending. But anyway, we’ve been married for just about 5 years now. We have two kids, ages 12 and 8. Our oldest is my stepson who currently lives with his father, who lives with his parents… who live right down the street from us, and happen to own our house. Yeah, and you thought dealing with YOUR landlord was a high-pressure situation…
I work for a company in Grapevine called RMS. It’s a marketing firm specializing in… doing some kinda stuff with banks and stuff. I don’t know. I just work there. I’m in IT so it really doesn’t matter what we do, IT is, well… IT. I fix computers when they break. I’m also a web developer, but I don’t do that for RMS anymore. I did for a while, but then they got a new CEO who had a bunch of friends who were out of work, so he gave them my job… and they didn’t do any better… but that’s just my opinion. (Hey, it’s my blog, I can say whatever the %$#&! I want… when someone else starts paying for the hosting account, they can tell me what I can and can’t say. lol.)
On a more serious note… Both of my kids are Type 1 diabetics. If you read my blog long enough, you’ll most likely hear something about either the kids or about a lil’ fella named Delta. Delta is our Diabetic Alert Dog. His job is to alert us when the boys’ blood sugars are high or low. He’s a chocolate lab who is currently just over six months old, and we are truly blessed to have him in our home. He helps to keep our boys healthy… plus he’s a ball to play with when everybody’s sugar levels are in good range! But as soon as he detects that someone is dropping, or that they’re going high, he goes straight into work mode. I’ve always wanted a chocolate lab… I never expected to get one that would be so awesome.
Well… that’s probably more than you ever wanted to hear about me… but there it is. Hope you enjoy reading the blog!
Nick.
